Do You Really Know the Gospel?

During Jesus’ earthly ministry, He was moved with compassion to the spiritual plight of men.  He saw them as distressed and downtrodden.  Jesus told his disciples that the harvest was plentiful but the workers were few.  The disciples were commanded to pray that God would raise up men to reap the great harvest (Matthew 9:36-38).  Jesus commanded His disciples to go into the entire world and preach the gospel to all creation (Mark 16:15).

Evangelism is one of the two primary responsibilities of the church.  How effective are we in this task?  Do we have the heart of compassion that Jesus had?  Do we care that men are perishing in their sins?  God has ordained the end by the means.  God saves His elect through the faithfulness of the Gospel witnessed to and preached.

Rev. John M. Otis, an evangelist of the RPCUS to its mission work in Corpus Christi, Texas, has written two new tools that will aid the Lord’s church in fulfilling its stewardship of reaching all creation with God’s Gospel.

How well do our church members know the Gospel?  It is vital that they understand, for their eternal destinies are at stake.  How capable are our church members in witnessing to others of this glorious Gospel?  Could they take someone through the Scriptures and show them the way of salvation?
